Choosing a wedding date is exciting! It may be tempting to pick a date based on what numbers you like that also fall on a Saturday (or is that just me?)... but you must also consider a few other essential elements before narrowing down your options.

Look Ahead
So, how do you pick the perfect wedding date? The first thing to consider is your own schedule and availability. Take a look at your work schedules and vacation time to determine what dates will work best for you and your partner. Also, consider any important events or obligations you may have, such as school graduations or family reunions. It's important to give yourself enough time to plan your wedding, so ensure you have a realistic idea of how much time you need. If you’re having a traditional wedding, anything under a year is considered a tight timeframe.
Consider Vendors and Pricing
Next, consider your venue and vendors. Start by checking the availability of your desired venues and vendors. Some popular venues and vendors can book up well in advance, so it's a good idea to start early. Also, consider the cost of venues and vendors during peak wedding seasons. If you are open to having a weekday or off-season wedding, you may be able to save money and secure your desired venue and vendors more easily.
Factor in the Theme or Vibe of Your Wedding
Another factor to consider is your desired theme or season. Do you have a specific theme or season in mind for your wedding? Consider the weather and any potential conflicts with your desired theme or season. For example, if you want an outdoor wedding in the summer, you'll need to be prepared for the potential for hot temperatures and possibly even rain.
Take Into Account Special Loved Ones
Finally, remember to consider your guests. Check with important guests, such as parents and close friends, to ensure their availability. Even though it feels so far out, it’s better to check with the close family just in case.
Choosing a wedding date is an important decision that requires careful consideration. Take your time and evaluate all of the factors that will affect your wedding. Remember, the most important thing is that you and your partner are happy and comfortable with your chosen date. Best of luck with your planning!
